01. 비밀정원 (Secret Garden) {8.5/10}
If you want my full thoughts on this song, you can check out my full review of the MV here. Long story short? I liked it a lot, but I just didn’t think it made for a compelling title track to draw in new fans to the fold.

02. Love O`clock {7.5/10}
I really love the use of a ticking clock as the main basis from a drumbeat, and it really works well in making an intriguing instrumental set. This song is significantly less on the ‘dreamy’ side of things, though there’s still a faint hint of it during that chorus. It’s got more of a fantasy element to it, I’d say. The structure of this song is a bit awkward, but in a way that only makes it more interesting somehow. I think that the vocals really bandage this song together into a more cohesive piece, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The song is okay, though I wish there was a bit more variance in terms of emphasis and bite to it other than the last forty-five second or so. It’s not something I’ll actively look to put on, but I certainly wouldn’t mind if it were to crop up randomly in my playlist.

03. Butterfly {7.5/10}
Fluttery use of acoustic guitars and soft, buttery vocals? This song was practically an arrow aimed straight at my heart. I’ll admit that there’s very little to separate it in a sea of other tracks like this from other groups, but I found myself enjoying it nevertheless. Mimi’s rap is definitely the highlight for me, though the chorus vocals are so sweet and fluffy that I can’t resist them, either. Songs like these are an absolute weakness for me, and I’m fully aware that it makes me a little biased towards them. Still, I think this song is really cute and it definitely got me to melt just a little bit.

04. Sixteen {9/10}
There’s something about this song that just sounds and feels really familiar to me, though I can’t place it. Even still, I really love this song. The sort of padded piano chord pacing just gives it a very cute, happy feeling for its entire duration. The chorus is a bit more chant-y than I typically enjoy but it didn’t bother me too much here. I could have done a little less with the “lalala” section, too, but again, it didn’t dent the song too negatively to impact my opinion of it as a whole. This is like an anthem of sorts, though I’m not entirely sure that describing it as a cute yet still powerful anthem is giving this song proper credit.

05. Magic {8.5/10}
The final track on this album brings everything full circle, incorporating small bits of elements from each track prior and tying things up into a nice bow. The ethereal feel from “Secret Garden” returns while a playful ditty of bass and treble give this song a slightly funky, fantastical atmosphere as well. The vocal melodies are both fascinating and pleasing, but moreso they’re enthralling with how refreshingly interesting they are. Those vocals made this another track that had me melting, and I just think that this is the most OH MY GIRL song on the whole album. There’s just something about it that screams that it could only have been their song.

Secret Garden is a great mini-album that encapsulates a lot of what makes OH MY GIRL special and unique in comparison to other girl groups. From their heavenly vocal presentations to the interesting mix of instrumentals used on this album, there’s something new and fun to hear in every track. If you fancy yourself a solid mix of atmosphere, cuteness, and confidence, this album is sure to be a pleaser.
